Periodic Table
The father of the periodic table is Mendeleev,
He ordered the table by atomic mass, so this
title he received,
Next Moseley changed the table to go by atomic
number,
So it is different from the way things were,
The particles can be arranged in a Bohr Model,
The 4th ring can hold 32e-, 3rd
ring 18e-, 2nd ring 8e’, and 1st 2e- because it’s very
small,
In the periodic table most metals are on the
left and most non-metals are to the right,
And metalloids are touching the stair step which
is always in sight,
Hydrogen is the only non-metal on the metal
side,
It is on the very top, it does not hide,
The columns up and down are known as groups or
family,
Rows go across and called periods as everyone
can see,
Most metals are solids and most non-metals are
gas,
And gases that do not form compounds are known
as “Noble Gas”,
The electron cloud surrounds the nucleus which
is the middle,
And the electron cloud’s mass is very little,
Atomic number, protons, and electrons are always
the same,
This way you don’t need to do math, it is not a
pain,
Atomic mass – atomic number = the number of neutrons,
This equation is never wrong,
Figure out the valence to find out the charge,
By doing a Bohr model it doesn’t have to be
large.
Wait you learned about Bohr models in 8th grade?
ReplyDeleteYeah, its really hard!
ReplyDeleteWow we never learned about it, it must get harder every year
