911 Remember the Day
Remember
The Day
Remember
the day in the year 2001,
When
the skies were beautiful and so was the sun,
No
one could’ve guessed what would happen that day,
When
the sky was smothered with blotches of grey.
Remember
the day when two planes soared across the air,
And
inside was were pilots, who did not care,
They
were terrorists with no heart,
Who
didn’t care about the families they would forever break apart.
Remember
the day when the two planes flew,
And
into the towers they crashed into,
Everyone
on the streets looked up in fright,
At
the horrendous and surprising sight.
Remember
the day that just might be,
The
saddest day in American history,
But
don’t just think of the horror that took over that day,
But
of the American spirit that will never go away.
Remember
the day when the police and firemen,
Quickly
ran to help and went in,
They
went into the building and risked their lives,
And
many officers arrived.
Remember
the day when the heroes made America proud,
By
driving the ambulances while the sirens screamed loud,
They
were willing to go into the face of danger and threat,
While
the firemen’s sprayed the fire with water that was wet.
So
remember this day when the people of America were strong,
And
they thought of their families while they waited long,
Remember
the people who lost their lives and died,
And
the heroes who were helping them and never gave up and tried.
So
on this very special day,
Close
your eyes and pray,
Take
a moment and think of the ones who were lost,
And
how the heroes jumped into save lives no matter what cost.
Great Poem ! Good Job , Lynne.
