Heartless Prayer

Heartless Prayer

If love disappears
And I’m inside
A hospital
Give me time to help someone feeling ill.
If love disappears
And I’m learning
Inside of my school in Cary,
Give me time
To give a hug
To a happy, smiling child.
If love disappears
And I’m ordering food at a café
Let me have the chance
To pay for someone else.
If love disappears
And I’m wandering in the garden,
Grant me nature’s beauty,
A camera to capture the things I cherish.
Grant us a moment
When we can express feelings
To the ones we love.
Give us the courage
Of honesty.
Let each of us say
What we’ve always
Wanted to,
But were to scared
To admit.
Let us spread
Our true compassion,
Admiring and healing things
We’ve wanted to keep forever
But couldn’t.
If we’re to go cold hearted,
Grant us a moment to express
The empathy behind our door hidden with HATE,
Allow us to cherish what we always had
Just within our soul.
Give us hope
Of humanity’s kindness.
