Skye and Phillip

Skye and Phillip
Once upon a time a boy named Phillip was to be crowned king. Phillip loved the idea of being king but he knew for that to happen he had to find himself a queen. He searched the kingdom looking for the perfect girl. Most of them were too mean and sassy. When he was about to give up he saw a beautiful maiden walking the streets. She had dark black hair that swayed with each step. She was very kind and gentle, Phillip fell instantly in love. He rode his horse over to where she was standing. Phillip asked her for her name. Her name was Skye. Skye was not like other girls, instead of drooling over him she remained calm. After getting to know her he asked for her hand in marriage. She agreed and the rode back to the castle. When they arrived at the castle they came upon terrible news. Phillip could not marry Skye. Skye was a serf and Phillip was the future lord, back then them marring was illegal. Phillip had to chose between becoming lord or marring Skye. He took the crown in one hand and Skye's hand in the other. He walked slowly outside and looked at Skye. For the first time Phillip noticed that Skye was dressed in a brown ripped up rag covered with dirt, but somehow to Phillip she was beautiful. He tossed the crown behind and hugged Skye, he had made his decision. "It is not the money or position that makes the person, it is the heart," thought Phillip. The crown sat in the grass and deformed as time passed by. Phillip and Skye got married and lived happily ever after.
The End

  1. Lynne, this is a very sweet story and I only saw a few grammatical/spelling errors. When you said most of them were to sassy, it should be spelled "too" and "marring" should be spelled "marrying." Other than those two small mistakes it really is a very cute story and you did a very good job on it as well.

Very cute story Lynne. I think you should collect all your short stories like this and create little book for keepsake and you could use it to share with others. It would also make a great christmas present or birthday present for your family members.
