Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Hi! First I would like to apologize for not being able to write for such a long time.

      As some of you may know tomorrow is Dr. Seuss's Birthday. Dr. Seuss was an AMAZING poet.

     He wrote many famous and popular books. Dr. Seuss inspired children and people to care about the environment and to always be ourselves.

     He is one of the main reasons I love poetry sooo much. I hope you like my poem about Dr. Seuss. 

 Dr. Seuss

Hilarious, funny, amazing to all,

His poetry is creative and wonderful,

Amazing rhymes and amazing stories,

That entertains the whole family,

His books bring joy, color, and imagination,

And they are all special, his very own creation,

He inspired so many of us to write,

And his books bring us laughter and delight,

They are filled with words we never knew,

All made up by him, this is true,

He inspired us with creatures like Sam I Am,

And introduced us to green eggs and ham,

He introduced us to the Grinch and Thing 2 and Thing 1,

And the Once-ler who cut down Truffula trees till there were none,

Dr. Seuss created Horton who heard a Who,

He made all the events on Mulberry Street (none of which were true),

And who could forget his plain and star bellied Sneetches,

And all of the lessons that Dr. Seuss teaches,

He inspires us to help keep the environment good,

And to not chop down too many trees for “truffula” or wood,

He encourages all of us to write and to read,

He is an amazing poet, indeed,

Happy birthday Dr. Seuss, we honor you in so many ways,

And without you I would not be writing poetry today!
