 Here is a poem I wrote about life. I hope you enjoy!

Life

From the second you opened your eyes,

The path ahead lies,

From when you first slept,

And took your first step.

You know that is life,

Sometimes there will be strife,

But it’s all part of growing up,

When you switch from a bottle to a cup.

It is a sign of change;

It might feel kind of strange.

When you first go to school,

You will meet friends that are really cool.

Then you learn your ABCs,

You start to learn manners and saying please.

When you go to middle school,

You learn about people who try to be cool;

You’ll learn about grades,

And you might be afraid.

 People might bully you,

To make you feel like you are a fool,

But you are great just the way you are,

Just ignore them and you will go far.

Just remember to be yourself;

Also remember to have good health,

To study hard and set a goal,

To always follow your heart and soul.

When you’ve reached the teenage years,

Many new things will appear.

You might try to fit in,

Sometimes you feel like you can never win;

You might be in a popularity contest,

About who can dress the best,

But concentrate on school work instead,

And always hold high your head.

Just remember to never regret,

And all the bad things; you can forget.

Based on your knowledge,

You’ll get into a college;

You may grieve,

Because it’s hard to leave.

When you first walk into your dorm,

You will mourn,

It might be hard not to cry,

Because to all your friends and family you’ve said good bye.

But do not worry, do not fear,

In your heart they’ll always stay near.

Soon you’ll be surrounded by new friends,

And your happiness won’t have come to an end.

When you graduate you’re excited for an occupation,

But when you get one you’ll wish for a vacation.

You’ll try to earn money so you can get to the top,

So you can afford to be a mom or a pop.

This is just the first few challenges life throws in,

Try your best and you can succeed and win.
