Grandfather

This is another poem I wrote to memorialize by grandfather. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Grandfather

Summer was here at last,
but my happiness drained out fast,
When I heard that my grandfather died,
I cried and I cried and I cried,
He died while he slept,
 and I weeped and weeped,
I never knew this day would come,
When darkness would tower over fun,
When nothing in this world seemed right,
When you weren't ever in my sight,
Nothing could ever hurt me more,
Because without you my heart feels sore,
I remember crying by your bed,
While you took my hand and said,
"I love you very very much,"
I will never forget his warm gentle touch.
