Be Yourself

"Pink is for girls, and blue is for boys,

They both play with different types of toys.

Females get dolls with long golden hair,

While males get robots with red glowing stares.

If you are a lady you must admit when you’re wrong,

And gentlemen must be the ones who are brave and strong.

Girls should love fashion and make-up and ballet,

Boys should always love to tackle and play.”

These are the rules in our society,

It tells us what to do and who to be.

These “laws” that suffocate who we are inside,

Makes us feel as though we have to hide.

This is so wrong and we should be able,

To do what we want without being labeled.

Prejudice should go away and leave forever,

And let people be who they are and do whatever.

All colors should be neutral and people should stay true,

I should be me and you should be you.
