Moon Festival 

Gazing up at the sky,

The wind whistles a sweet lullaby,

The night is dark but the moon is bright,

It iridesces love and wishes so bright,

It reminds us of our families that are far away,

Who are looking up at the same moon, on the same very special day,

The circular shape symbolizes our love as a whole,

That connects us with a strong, invisible pull,

The legend of the moon festival is of a girl and a boy,

Who when they were together, brought each other great joy,

But one day the girl flew far away, 

Onto the moon where she will forever stay,

The couples hearts broke apart and became separated, 

And on the land and the moon the girl and boy waited,

Waiting for this one date that comes only once every year,

So that they may be together filled with love and with cheer,

For the girl and the boy only want to be together,

So that they can share their love and know that they have each other,

This story and this day reminds us that even though we cannot see,

Some of our distant family,

Loved ones are never far apart,

Because they are always in our mind and heart
