Brazil Nightclub Fire

The walls were vibrating the music was loud,

The band was singing proud,

The people danced, laughed, and sang,

And in their ears the music rang.

A band member held up something,

While they were singing,

It caught fire to the ceiling,

And it flickered, quite intriguing.

But then there was a blazing light,

A flame that exploded bright,

It spread so fast no one could prepare,

For the coming terrifying scare.

The crowd they screamed and ran for the door,

There was only one, no less and no more,

And through the terror the fire still blazed,

Creating a toxic, blurry haze.

So many people all in one room,

They never could have guessed they would be doomed,

With only one exit so many were stuck,

And felt that they were out of luck.

More than 232 people didn't survive,

And only few came out safe and alive,

So please think of the young people, who died,

And think of their families who are devastated and cried.

I desperately wish this could change and time would rewind,

But instead we should keep them in our heart and mind,

And in the hospitals, some victims, they lay,

And I hope that they will heal and be okay.
