Pray for Taiwan

Hey everyone. A few days ago, southern Taiwan was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5. A lot of buildings toppled and many people were hurt during this disaster. Taiwan has always been very close to my heart. My entire family is from there and I'm so extremely thankful to say that all my relatives as well as friends are okay. Still, there are many people in Taiwan who have been seriously hurt. I just wanted to write something to bring attention to what's happening there right now. If you have anything to give please donate to their recovery. If you don't, please just keep the people there in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. If you're reading this from Taiwan, please know that there are so many of us rooting for your safety and that everything is going to be okay.

Pray for Taiwan

It’s all over the web and all over the news,

The people of Taiwan, crying and bruised,

Buildings knocked over from the shake of the ground,

Rubble in piles stacked all around,

There is pain and there’s suffering and so much commotion,

There is hurt and there’s fear and so much emotion.

But still the people there stay strong and brave,

They help others around them and save all they can save,

There are heroes pulling children out from underneath boulders,

Mothers and fathers carrying their children on their shoulders,

Rescue workers trying their best to give aid,

And citizens helping to make others unafraid.

And though you may not be there to assist or intervene,

Pray for the families and those still at the scene,

Hope that the people will stay strong and be okay,

And that their recovery will soon be underway.
